Background
Our personal stories bring to light how we relate to ourselves or to others. Throughout my life, I have been fascinated by people; their lives, how we interact and our stories. Alongside this, I have experienced that people have confided in me about their life and inner worlds. I listened and empathised, and together we would work through their issues. It was only after raising my children to an age where they were more independent that I realised; I could now finally follow my vocation as a professional counsellor.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I firmly believe that each of us holds the answers to our own issues within. My role here is to help you recognise these and support you in working through them. I will aim to create a trusting counselling relationship throughout our sessions, where you can feel able to express your feelings in an empathic and accepting environment. Through this collaboration, our aim would be for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, in turn facilitating the change you are aspiring to achieve.
Over the years, I have worked in various settings, including Counselling Agencies, Charities, Employee Assistance Programme and in High Schools. My work has covered a diverse set of peoples issues, ranging from trauma, bereavement and addiction, to relationship issues or any other aspects of life which may have become a burden.
I appreciate how difficult it can be to ask for help but please feel invited to get in touch to discuss your issues and any questions you may have.
